Protect the Dolls
A fashion-centered closet app concept for women, trans, and queer style lovers. The user becomes a digital paper doll, scans their real closet, changes the backdrop, and plays with outfit-building through a glossy 90s closet-computer interface.

A closet app with digital paper doll energy.
Protect the Dolls is being developed as a UX/UI and interactive media concept. The app idea turns personal style into a playful closet experience where users upload a photo of themselves, scan the clothing they already own, change the visual backdrop, and build outfits through a glossy fashion interface with layered clothing states, pose previews, and mood-based backdrops.
The visual direction pulls from the feeling of a 90s closet computer: pink glass panels, soft icons, outfit tabs, fitting details, a doll-box fitting area, changeable backdrops, full-body pose states, updated backdrop choices, ownership protection cues, and a soft natural idle state while the doll waits to be styled.
For users who use fashion to play, protect, express, soften, sharpen, and be seen on their own terms.
The concept helps users see what they already own, style new combinations, and imagine themselves before getting dressed.
Users scan themselves and their clothing, then dress a digital version of themselves inside a mood-based backdrop.
Interaction
Users tap closet pieces to dress the neutral base doll, then switch into full-body pose previews. The runway poses appear first and the in-place catwalk preview cycles between Model Walk 01 and Model Walk 03 with a small bob and shadow shift. Pose groups now act as outfit direction: feminine looks for soft/editorial/runway poses, and masc or androgynous looks for tomboy poses.
Backdrop mood
The background becomes part of the styling experience, helping each outfit feel like a small fashion scene.
User Flow

The app concept moves through four simple moments: capture the body, capture the closet, build looks, and save outfit stories.
Snap the self
The user takes a body photo to create a private digital paper doll that reflects their real shape and presence.
Scan the closet
The user photographs clothing, shoes, accessories, and pieces they already own.
Style the doll
The user taps closet pieces, dresses the doll, changes the room, and tests outfits without changing clothes.
Save the mood
Each look can become an outfit card with notes, occasion, confidence rating, backdrop, and personal styling memory.
UX/UI Thinking
Cute interface. Real design problem.
Body-aware, not body-corrective
The experience should not slim, reshape, or correct the user. It should support styling around the real body.
Private first
Because body image and gender expression can be sensitive, uploads, outfit notes, and saved looks should be private by default.
Fashion as protection
The project title frames clothing as more than decoration. Style can be armor, softness, humor, fantasy, memory, and self-recognition.
Portfolio purpose
This page functions as a UX/UI case study, interactive prototype, and visual identity direction for an app concept still in development.
